Jan 22nd!

Zaijian Chendu…Nihao Beijing!

Today we got up bright and early to catch our flight to Beijing. Although we were sad to leave our new friends in Chengdu, we were excited for what was to come.

After about a two hour flight we arrived in Beijing. We got our luggage and met up with our new tour guide, Raymond. Who greeted us with a Pacific Lutheran University banner!

We then headed to the Feng Ze Yuan Hotel, which is very close to Tiananmen Square.  After we got settled in we went to dinner and a delicious fist meal in Beijing.

Our last stop for the evening was to the Laoshe Teahouse Show. While sipping on tea and eating snacks we were able to enjoy everything from folk music to oral mimicry to Chinese Kungfu!

It was a nice a relaxing first day in Beijing and allowed the class to rest from traveling and prepare for the busy days ahead.

Zaijian,

Have you tried dumplings and roast ducks? They are the famous and traditional Beijing dishes. And also bird's nest soup? Its a delicacy in China.

Enjoy your days~~~
