Program Description:

This course provides a unique opportunity to learn the theory and practice of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) from Chinese Practitioners in Chengdu, China.  It explores the Chinese Health Care system in which TCM is practiced.  The course studies in fundamentals of TCM diagnosis, theories in Chinese medicine, acupuncture, Tui na massage moxibustion, and TCM nursing.  The cultural richness of this experience will enhance student understanding.  The location of the delivery of TCM services will allow students to analyze the Chinese Health Care System as it incorporates TCM.  Course is taught in English.

Course Objectives:
  • Attend a four-week TCM course at the University of Chengdu, School of Traditional Medicine, one week of touring.
  • Learn TCM theory and practice from Chinese practitioners (hands-on practice will be part of this learning experience).
  • Explore the Chinese Health System in which TCM is practiced.
